Salt spray environment testing required for connector production

Salt mist environment mainly refers to the application environment of medical device connectors, electric vehicle connectors, and underwater application equipment. In general, salt spray environment refers to a salt spray environment formed by a 5% salt solution. Usually, this environment can be used to effectively evaluate equipment or components directly exposed to seawater or land salt, as it is not the real environment. The normal exposure time is between 48 hours and 96 hours.

The salt spray test is usually used in underwater environments to evaluate the corrosion resistance of metal connector shells (such as verifying the anti-corrosion effect of nickel coating on the surface of zinc alloy die-casting parts). Confirm the performance of the exposed parts by checking the DWV and insulation resistance, and confirm that the shell sealing is effective.

Salt spray testing is sometimes used to evaluate automotive connectors.
