Several issues to be noted in the design and manufacturing of injection molds
Firstly, do not focus solely on product design and neglect the manufacturing of injection molds:
When developing products or new products, some users tend to focus on product development and neglect communication with ABS injection mold production units. After preliminarily determining the product design plan, contacting the injection mold supplier in advance has three benefits:
1. It can ensure that the designed product has a good molding process and will not change the finalized design, as this part is difficult to process.
2. Injection mold manufacturers can make design preparations in advance to prevent hasty inconsistencies that may affect the project schedule.
3. To produce high-quality injection molds, only through close cooperation between supply and demand can costs be reduced and cycles shortened.
Secondly, don't just look at the price, be sure to consider all aspects such as quality, cycle time, and service:
There are various types of injection molds, which can be roughly divided into ten categories. According to the different requirements of component materials, different types of TPU injection molds are selected for molding in terms of physical and chemical properties, mechanical strength, dimensional accuracy, surface finish, service life, and economy.
2. High precision injection molds require high-precision CNC machine tools for processing, and there are strict requirements for injection mold materials and molding processes. Design analysis also requires CAD/CAE/CAM injection mold technology.
3. Some parts have special requirements for molding, and injection molds also require advanced processes such as hot runner, gas assisted molding, and nitrogen bottles.
4. Manufacturers should have CNC, EDM, wire cutting, and CNC profiling milling equipment, high-precision grinding machines, high-precision coordinate measuring instruments, computer design, and related software.
5. Generally, large stamping and injection molds (such as car hood injection molds) should consider whether the machine has a crimping mechanism, whether there is lubricant, and whether there are multiple workstation levels. In addition to stamping tonnage, protective devices for stamping, feeding devices, machine tools, and injection molds should also be considered.
The manufacturing methods and processes for injection molds mentioned above are not owned and mastered by every enterprise. When choosing a cooperative manufacturer, it is important to understand its processing capabilities, not only considering hardware equipment, but also combining management level, processing experience, and technical strength.
7. For the same PC injection mold, there may be significant differences between different manufacturers. You should not pay a value higher than the injection mold, nor should you pay a cost lower than the injection mold. Like you, injection mold manufacturers must make reasonable profits in their business. Ordering a set of injection molds at a much lower quotation may be troublesome. Users must start from their own needs and comprehensively measure.
Thirdly, avoid multiple collaborations and try to produce injection molds and products in a one-stop manner:
1. It is not necessarily possible to produce batches of qualified products through qualified injection molds (qualified specimens). This mainly involves the selection of parts, forming process (forming temperature, forming time, etc.), and the technical quality of operators.
2. With good injection molds and molding processes, we can work together and try to avoid long-term cooperation.
